INTERNATIONALISATION OF ENERGY SECTOR R&D

The Energy Cluster Association (ACE) aims to promote and encourage greater participation of companies in the Basque energy sector in the various calls for European R&D and Innovation programmes, with special attention to the new European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FPRI) called 'Horizon Europe' (HE).

To this end, it proposed to the RIS3 Energy Steering Group the creation of a Working Group for the Internationalisation of R&D in the energy sector ("EUROENER"), and the Steering Group agreed at its last meeting (10/06/2021) to create and set it up. The aim of the WG will be to promote the internationalisation of the R&D of companies in the Basque energy sector, encouraging greater participation in the various calls for European R&D and Innovation programmes (with special attention to the new European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 'Horizon Europe'), through the driving force of Basque Science Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) agents and companies with experience in this field.

The Working Group will be coordinated by the Basque Energy Cluster and will include public entities and organisations that develop actions in this field, actors of the RVCTI and companies that confirm their commitment to work as driving forces of the energy sector in European programmes:

Public entities and organisations that develop actions and provide services related to the participation in European R&D and Innovation programmes: Basque Government (Technology Directorate), SPRI, Basque Enterprise Europe Network (Basque EEN), Innobasque, Delegation of the Basque Government in Brussels. . .
RVCTI agents with the greatest activity in the Energy calls of the European Programmes. Invited entities: CEIT, CIDETEC, CIC energiGUNE, IKERLAN, LORTEK, TEKNIKER, TECNALIA, AZTI
Companies with relevant experience and returns from European projects that confirm their commitment to work as a driving force for the energy sector in European programmes. Invited companies: SIEMENS-GAMESA, IBERDROLA RENOVABLES, i-DE, IDOM, INGETEAM, JEMA, MONDRAGON, ZIV.

EUROENER's activities will be carried out in the period 2021-2022 and will therefore focus on taking advantage of the opportunities offered by Horizon Europe in its 'Work Programme' for these 2 years.

The Basque Energy Cluster offers its associates the possibility to get involved as a partner in the European proposals in which they participate, assuming the leadership or the development of activities of the Communication, dissemination and exploitation Work Package. The Cluster has extensive experience in the development of communication and dissemination activities of collaborative R&D projects, both in local projects (Hazitek, Elkartek…) as well as in different European Programmes (H2020, COSME, Interreg, EMFF…)
