The use of wave power, is a field which is still in an exploratory phase. The high energy potential of the Basque coast and the current capacities in the value chain make wave power a strategic bid for the Basque Country.

The implementation of an infrastructure such as BIMEP (Biscay Marine Energy Platform) in the Basque Country, aimed at the experimentation and testing of wave power technologies and developments is enabling the scientific-technological offer to be developed and positioning the Basque Country as an international benchmark in wave power.

The Energy Cluster tries to promote the generation of the industrial sector, developing proprietary technology in converter components and auxiliary equipment and services of the marine park: power evacuation, power electronics, operation and maintenance, etc.
